Real Madrid faced off against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano earlier tonight as they looked to secure a victory in the Madrid derby. Los Blancos made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 18th minute courtesy of Rodrygo’s finish from close range. Federico Valverde made it 2-0 to the visitors when he scored from a rebound as Carlo Ancelotti’s men went into the half-time break with a two-goal advantage.
Atletico Madrid got a goal back in the 83rd minute when Mario Hermoso found the back of the net. However, he was sent off in injury time as Real Madrid earned a narrow 2-1 win in the derby.
