Atletico Madrid will face Bayern Leverkusen in their second match of the UEFA Champions League group stages, as they travel to Bay Arena on Wednesday night. They come into the match on the back of a 2-1 victory against Porto in their last UCL fixture. Diego Simeone’s side will be looking to grab another win to stay on the top of the table. The Spanish outfit have had a decent start to their La Liga campaign collecting 10 points from five matches so far.
Simeone will opt for the 3-5-2 formation with Jan Oblak continuing in goal while Alvaro Morata and Joao Felix continue to form a two-man striking partnership up front.
3-5-2 Atletico Madrid Predicted Line Up Vs Bayern Leverkusen
Defence
Jan Oblak will function in between the sticks hoping to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Wednesday. The three-man defence will include Stefan Gimenez, Witsel and Reinildo Mandava at the heart of Atletico’s backline. Their main objective would be to stop the German outfit’s frontline in its tracks.
Nahuel Molina will start as a right-sided wide player, whereas Saul Niguez will fill in on the opposite flank.
Midfield
Marcos Llorente, Yannick Carrasco and Koke are expected to start in the central midfield positions. The latter would play more of a defensive role to shield the back three. The trio would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal-scoring chances for the frontmen. Geoffrey Kondogbia, Rodrigo De Paul and Thomas Lemar would take a spot on the bench to provide cover for the midfield positions hoping to impress in the second half, if needed.
Attack
Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata will form the two-man strike team. The duo would fancy their chances of finding the back of the net to help their team grab the win. Angel Correa could come on in the latter half to create an impact if Atletico require a goal by then.
Antonio Greizman will also take a spot on the bench and could come on after the interval.
