Newcastle United will lock horns with Bournemouth at St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, hoping to pick up a positive result on their home turf. The Magpies will be coming into the match on the back of a 0-0 stalemate with Crystal Palace, whereas the Cherries recorded a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest on September 3.
Eddie Howe will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation; however, he is expected to make a couple of changes for the upcoming clash as Bruno Guimaraes looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup Vs Bournemouth
Defence
Nick Pope will continue to operate in between the sticks for the hosts. The English shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Saturday.
Eddie Howe is expected to field the defensive duo of Fabian Schar and Sven Botman at the heart of the Magpies’ backline. Their main objective would be to track and close down the potential openings the Bournemouth frontmen might create.
Kieran Trippier could feature at the right wing-back spot, whereas Matt Targett will fill in on the other flank as the left wing-back.
Midfield
Joelinton and Sean Longstaff are expected to start in the central midfield positions, whereas Bruno Guimaraes will slot in as the defensive midfielder. The duo would be determined to set up some clear-cut goal-scoring chances for the frontmen.
Joe Willock will have to settle for a place on the bench but could come on in the second half of the game if needed.
Attack
Miguel Almiron and Ryan Fraser will take up the wide positions, playing down the right and left-wing, respectively.
Alexander Isak will lead the line for the hosts against Bournemouth on Saturday. The striker would hope to get his name on the scoresheet when he faces off against the defence that has conceded eighteen goals in their last five league matches.
