Everton will entertain Chelsea at Goodison Park this Saturday evening as they try to secure a win at home. The Toffees survived a relegation scare in the Premier League last season, so they will be eager to make a decent start to this campaign.
Frank Lampard will set his side up in a 3-4-3 formation and could name James Tarkowski in his starting XI for this game. His inclusion would mean that Michael Keane has to be content with a spot on Everton’s bench.
3-4-3 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in between the sticks for the Merseyside club. The English keeper will have to make some saves if he wants to have any chance of securing a clean sheet in front of the Everton supporters.
Lampard could opt for a back three of Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina and James Tarkowski for this league clash versus the Blues. All three of them will have to defend their penalty box well if they are to keep the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.
Michael Keane will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Alex Iwobi and Abdoulaye Doucoure will operate as the box-to-box midfielders for Everton as they both try to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
Vitaliy Mykolenko will feature as the left wing while Nathan Patterson hopes to catch the eye on the right flank. Both of them will be instructed to stretch the Chelsea defence out on the wide areas.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will get a chance to impress as a left-sided wide player while Demarai Gray hopes to put his pace to good use from the right.
Dele Alli will lead the line for the Toffees in the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who will miss this league clash due to a knee injury. To make matters worse, Salomon Rondon is also unavailable for Everton due to suspension.
Dwight McNeil will be looking forward to impress off the bench if Lampard decides to call upon his services.
