In a recent report, Sport stated that Real Madrid are set to step up their efforts for OGC Nice attacker Amine Gouiri this summer. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the French centre-forward.
Gouiri’s Impressive Numbers In French Football Last Season
Gouiri had a decent campaign at Nice recently as he managed to put in a lot of influential displays as the focal point of their attack. The 22-year-old banged in ten goals and secured nine assists in 38 matches for the French side last season in the Ligue 1.
The talented striker led the line well by averaging 2.0 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game in the French top flight. He even took care of the ball well deep inside the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 80.4% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Gouiri A Good Choice For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Gouiri is proficient at creating space for himself to get a few shots in at goal and can be a decent finisher in the final third when he is playing with confidence on the field. He is primarily a centre-forward but can even serve as a left-sided wide player if needed.
The French sensation has got the vision to create some good openings for others around him and can complete a few dangerous dribbles in the opposition half.
Gouiri is good enough to serve as an ideal back-up to Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. He will no doubt add more goals and creativity to Carlo Ancelotti‘s frontline which makes him an excellent choice for Los Blancos to pursue this month.
At 22, Gouiri has got a bright future ahead of him and could be a good signing for the Madrid giants in the long run. However, only time will tell whether the Frenchman can maintain his good form in Spain if Ancelotti can devise a way to get him on board before the end of this summer transfer window.
