In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Liverpool are showing interest in Villarreal starlet Yeremy Pino. It is understood that the Reds are set to rival Manchester City among other clubs for the Spanish winger.
Pino’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football Last Season
Pino had a decent campaign with the Yellow Submarine as he managed to put in a run of productive displays from the right side of their attack. The 19-year-old banged in seven goals and earned four assists in 40 matches for the Spanish club last season on all fronts.
The Spanish youngster caught the eye at times by averaging 1.0 tackles, 0.9 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in La Liga. He was even tidy when distributing possession deep inside the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 78.9% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Liverpool Showing Interest In Pino: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Pino can get stuck in with some solid tackles to make life difficult for the opposition out on the wide areas. He can create space for himself to get some shots in at goal and has got the vision to play a good pass in the attacking end of the pitch. The Spanish prospect can even make a few driving runs with the ball on the right flank. He is primarily a right-sided wide player but can even play on the left wing or as a centre-forward if needed.
Therefore, it makes sense for Liverpool to register their interest in Pino as he will be a decent, long-term signing for them.
The Spaniard is good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in Jurgen Klopp‘s squad and could serve as an excellent, long-term successor to Roberto Firmino at the Merseyside club.
At 19, Pino has already established himself as a promising winger in Spanish football. Hence, there is no doubt that he would be a prospect to watch out for in the future. All in all, Klopp should focus on getting a deal done for him this summer or at the end of next season.
