Arsenal will clash heads with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday night as they try to kick off this Premier League campaign with a win on the road. Following the summer arrivals of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Viera and Marquinhos, the Gunners would go into this season full of confidence ahead of this crucial clash later this week.

Mikel Arteta could set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first team for this game. Gabriel Jesus will lead the line for the visitors in this London derby.

Defence

Aaron Ramsdale will operate in goal for the North London giants as he hopes to begin this campaign with a clean sheet on the road. William Saliba is expected to get the nod to play alongside Gabriel at the heart of Arsenal’s defence.

Ben White could be named at right-back while Oleksandr Zinchenko hopes to give a good account of himself at left-back. Both of them will be given the license to express themselves in the Palace half.

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney could be fit enough for a place on Arteta’s bench.

Midfield

Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard will make up Arsenal’s midfield as they try to dominate the battle at the centre of the park. Odegaard will be given the license to get forward and create some decent chances in the final third.

Emile Smith Rowe could be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.

Attack

Gabriel Martinelli will be eager to put in an influential display on the left wing while Bukayo Saka looks to catch the eye from the right.

Gabriel Jesus will spearhead the Gunners’ attack up top. He has been in good form during pre-season, so the Arsenal fans would be keen on his performance this Friday night.

Eddie Nketiah will have to settle for a place on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages of the game if Arteta decides to call upon his services.
