In a recent tweet, journalist David Bernabeu Reverter revealed that Barcelona are hoping to land Manchester City star Bernardo Silva this summer. It is understood that the Catalan giants are eyeing a late move for the Portuguese talent during this summer transfer window.
Acordaros.

Silva’s Impressive Season At The Etihad Stadium
Silva enjoyed a brilliant campaign at Manchester recently as he helped Pep Guardiola’s side secure another Premier League title earlier this year. The Portuguese talent did well to score 13 goals and secure seven assists in 50 matches for Man City last season across all fronts.
The 28-year-old was a consistent performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.3 shots, 1.7 key passes, 1.6 tackles, 0.5 interceptions and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He even took care of the ball when distributing possession in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 89.6% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Etihad Stadium is set to run out in the summer of 2025. Hence, Barca might find it difficult to get a deal over the line for him before the end of this ongoing transfer window.
Is Bernardo Silva A Good Option For Barcelona Boss Xavi?
Silva has decent pace under his belt and remains an excellent dribbler with the ball at his feet. He usually works hard for his team and has got the vision to play a few decisive passes on the attacking end of the field. Silva is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if needed.
The Portugal international can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range. Furthermore, he is proficient at keeping possession moving in tight spaces which would make him an ideal fit for Xavi‘s brand of football at the Nou Camp.
Silva has got the skillset and winning mindset to be a success story at a club like Barcelona. He has won a lot of trophies at Man City and could be tempted to opt for a new challenge this summer.
With all things considered, Silva will be a brilliant option for the Catalan giants to consider during this summer transfer period. He will add a lot of goals and creativity to Xavi’s attack. At 28, Silva is currently playing at his prime and could help Barca challenge for some major trophies once again in the coming seasons.
