West Ham United will entertain Brighton and Hove Albion at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to bounce back with a win in the Premier League. The Hammers suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest last weekend, so David Moyes will be eager to get a positive response from his players in this home league clash.
The East London outfit could set themselves up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Moyes expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Michail Antonio will once again get the nod to lead the line for West Ham up top.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Brighton
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will feature in between the sticks for the Seagulls after he conceded one goal in his last league outing. Kurt Zouma will continue to function alongside Ben Johnson at the centre of Moyes’ defence as they focus on stopping Brighton from scoring this weekend.
Vladimír Coufal will keep his place at right-back while Aaron Cresswell hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to express themselves in the opposition half so that they can offer adequate support to the front players.
Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna are unlikely to recover in time for this game as they continue to recover from their respective injuries.
Midfield
Declan Rice will anchor the midfield along with Tomas Soucek as they try to put in a dominant performance collectively at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen will play just ahead of them as part of West Ham’s attack. Benrahma produced a decent display against Nottingham despite failing to score in that game. Therefore, Moyes will rely on him to put in a fruitful display this Sunday.
Manuel Lanzini will be available for selection on the bench and might get a chance to impress in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Michail Antonio will lead the charge for the East London giants on his own up top. He has to find a way to get his name on the scoresheet if West Ham are to come out on top this weekend.
Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the latter stages of the game if West Ham are in need of a goal by then.
