Chelsea will lock horns with Everton at Goodison Park this Saturday evening as they look to grab all three points on their travels. The Blues have lost a lot of key players but made a few important signings as well this summer. Therefore, the West London club would be eager to kick off this campaign in style by securing a win at Merseyside.
Thomas Tuchel could set his team up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and will probably give Raheem Sterling the responsibility to lead the charge for the Blues in the final third.
3-4-2-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Edouard Mendy will operate in goal for Chelsea as he looks to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes. Tuchel could name a back three of Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta for this game. All three of them will have to defend well collectively if they are to keep a clean sheet away at Goodison Park.
Trevoh Chalobah will offer cover for the defensive positions on Chelsea’s bench.
Midfield
Jorginho will anchor the midfield alongside N’Golo Kante as they try to dominate possession at the centre of the park. Marcos Alonso could get the nod to impress as a left wing-back while Reece James hopes to put in a productive display down the right flank.
Mason Mount and Kai Havertz will get a chance to catch the eye as Tuchel’s free-flowing attacking midfielders in the Everton half. Both of them will have to carry most of the creative workload for the visitors up top.
Mateo Kovacic and Conor Gallagher will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to impress in the second half if needed.
Attack
Raheem Sterling will spearhead Chelsea’s attack up top. The English speedster will be hungry to find the back of the net and put in an influential display when he laces up to make his Premier League debut for the Blues this weekend.
Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech should make up the numbers on Tuchel’s bench but might come on to make an impact in the latter stages if Chelsea are in need of a goal by then.
