A recent report from Sport Witness mentioned that West Ham United have set their sights on AS Roma’s Justin Kluivert ahead of the next campaign. It is understood that the Hammers need attacking reinforcements and Kluivert could happen to be the next addition.
Kluivert’s Impressive Loan Spell At Nice Last Season
Kluivert has been a key player at OGC Nice producing a few impressive displays in the wide areas. He has scored six goals and created six assists over 31 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, which caught the eye of David Moyes.
The Zaandam-born sensation has had a fruitful loan spell last season after averaging 1.1 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in Ligue 1. He also remains decent in distributing the ball to his teammates, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 76.3 % in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).
Should David Moyes Bring Him To West Ham United?
Justin Kluivert has shown his class after creating impact in the final third when needed. He can make some dangerous runs down the flank with his pace and agility. The Dutch winger can produce some meaningful chances for his teammates through his wide array of crossing abilities.
The 23-year-old can grow over the coming seasons and would prove to be a brilliant addition in the attacking department but West Ham United need reinforcements in the striking position and the players they’ve been linked with are not out-and-out goal scorers.
Even though Kluivert would add a lot of depth to the squad, he wouldn’t be able to provide cover in the centre-forward area as he could only feature on either side of the flank in the winger position or as a wide player. So Moyes would be wise to reserve his resources to bring a decent striker to London Stadium instead.
