Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder To Make A Permanent Move To Sunderland: Should Conte Let Him Exit?

in a recent report, Football.London mentioned that Jack Clarke from Tottenham Hotspur is close to signing a permanent deal for Sunderland after having a successful loan spell last season.

Clarke’s Impressive Run Of Form For Sunderland

Clarke has performed exceptionally in the central areas of the pitch for Sunderland in his last campaign helping them reach the League One play-off final. He managed to score a goal and produce three assists over 20 appearances last season.

The York-born talent has performed consistently after averaging 1.1 tackles, 1.5 shots, 1.6 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game in League one. He has also been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 80.5% of his attempted passes in the third tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Antonio Conte Let Him Exit?

Jack Clarke can make some decent runs down the midfield. He doesn’t mind putting his foot into a tackle and excels at distributing possession. The English midfielder doesn’t hesitate in taking a shot at the goal from a distance and can strike the ball with power and accuracy.

The 21-year-old has the potential to become a playmaker in the foreseeable future if he puts in the required work and could prove to be a decent understudy for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg providing cover for him from the bench.

Antonio Conte may not utilise him in his plans for the next campaign but he could become a prized asset in the near future. Rather than letting him permanently sign for Sunderland, the Lilywhites should instead extend his loan deal. The Spurs should do everything in their capability to keep him at North London.
