In a recent report from Football.London it was stated that Bryan Gill of Tottenham Hotspur has not been included in the plans of Antonio Conte. The Spanish youngster had a successful loan spell at Valencia last season where he impressed in the central areas. However, that has not been enough to grant him first-team football at White Hart Lane.
Gill’s Loan Spell At Valencia Last Season
Bryan Gill produced some impressive displays at the Mestalla Stadium during his loan spell at Valencia. He was loaned out to the Spanish outfit in the January transfer window, where he managed to produce an assist appearing for 17 matches across all fronts.
The Barbate-born talent had an impressive run of form, although he couldn’t produce impressive numbers due to the lack of game time. He averaged 0.8 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game in La Liga. He was also tidy with his ball distribution after completing 74.9% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top flight (stats via whoscored).
Should Conte Offer Him A Chance In The First-Team Of Tottenham Hotspur Or Loan Him Out Again?
Gill excels at getting out of tight spaces with his excellent dribbling skills and ball control. He can create a yard of space for himself and make penetrating passes to find open teammates on the front foot. He has a wide array of crossing abilities and can confidently take set pieces to create some meaningful opportunities in front of the goal.
The 21-year-old has improved his game under Gennaro Gattuso but can get better over the coming years as he has shown to have great potential. However, Antonio Conte has already made it evident with the influx of attacking and defensive reinforcements that he will be going forward with a squad that has significant experience of playing in the top flight and the Champions League.
Conte plans to make the Lilywhites come out on the top of European football and that does not leave any chance for Spurs’ youngsters to feature for the North London club, hence Gill would be better off going out on loan to improve his game further before joining the senior squad at Tottenham.
