In a recent report, L’Equipe revealed that Real Madrid have been offered a chance to land Manchester City star Bernardo Silva this summer by the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes. It has been claimed that Man City have no intention to sell him despite both Los Blancos and Barcelona being offered an opportunity to sign the Portugal international.
Silva’s Decent Numbers At The Etihad Stadium Last Season
The Lisboa-born talent had a great campaign with the Mancunian outfit last season when he put in several influential displays for them in the final third. He managed to help Man City win the Premier League title earlier this summer. Silva scored 13 times and secured seven assists in 50 matches for Man City in the previous campaign across various competitions.
The Portugal international gave a good account of himself by averaging 1.3 shots, 1.7 key passes, 1.6 tackles, 0.5 interceptions and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He was even accurate when distributing the ball based on his pass success rate of 89.6% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Is Silva A Good Fit For Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti?
Silva is a decent dribbler with the ball and has got the vision to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third. He can strike the ball purely and with a lot of power. The Portuguese talent can be a hard man to stop inside the opposition penalty box when he is firing on all cylinders on the field.
At 27, Silva is entering his prime which makes him a great choice for Los Blancos. However, with Man City unwilling to let him go, it would take a massive fee for Carlo Ancelotti to land him this summer.
Still, there is no doubt that Silva will improve the quality of Real Madrid‘s first team considerably if they can devise a way to bring him on board. All in all, the Man City playmaker will be a decent fit for the Madrid giants as he has what it takes to help Real Madrid compete for even more silverware in the coming seasons.
