In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti wanted to sign Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus earlier this summer. It is understood that the Italian tactician was eager to sign the Brazilian forward as a back-up to Karim Benzema but a move failed to materialize.
Jesus’ Successful Campaign At The Etihad Stadium Last Season
Jesus had a decent campaign with his former club, Manchester City recently as he helped them secure the Premier League title with his overall contributions in the final third. The Brazil international netted 13 goals and earned 12 assists in 41 matches for the Mancunian giants last season across multiple competitions.
The 25-year-old gave a good account of himself in the opponent’s half by averaging 2.3 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He was even exceptional with his link-up in the attacking end of the pitch, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 84.8% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

Should Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti Move In For Jesus In The Future?
Jesus is proficient at generating a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in on-target. He has got the vision to create a few clear-cut chances for others around him and make a handful of intelligent runs with the ball in behind the opponent’s backline. Jesus is primarily a centre-forward but can even fill in as a winger on either flank if needed.
Real Madrid may have missed the boat in terms of recruiting the Brazilian forward this summer. However, Karim Benzema is not getting any younger, so if Jesus can show signs of becoming a prolific goal-getter during his time with Arsenal, Los Blancos has every reason to move in for him in the future.
