In a recent tweet, The Daily Telegraph’s Luke Edwards mentioned that Newcastle United remain interested in Leeds United star Jack Harrison this summer. It has been claimed that the Magpies are eyeing a move to bring the English wide player to St. James’ Park before the end of this transfer window.
#nufc retain a strong interest in Jack Harrison. Leeds United are not willing sellers at this stage. Given I first reported this interest in May the fact it hasn’t ended yet is, in itself, interesting. Nothing imminent on incomings. Market still difficult but work ongoing etc

Harrison’s Good Form At Elland Road Last Season
Harrison had a decent campaign with the Whites and deserves credit for helping them avoid relegation from the Premier League earlier this summer. The 25-year-old banged in ten goals and earned a couple of assists in 38 appearances for Leeds last season across various competitions.
The English talent caught the eye at times by averaging 1.6 tackles, 1.2 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in Premier League football. However, he has to find a way to improve his ball distribution after making just 70.5% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
What Will Harrison Bring To Newcastle United?
Harrison can use his pace to make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has a knack for scoring a few important goals for his team and can even engineer a few meaningful opportunities for others around him in the attacking third of the pitch. The English playmaker is primarily a left-winger but can even function as a right-sided wide player if his manager tells him to do so.
Someone of Harrison’s quality will be a welcome addition to Eddie Howe‘s match-day squad during this summer transfer period as he will inject more pace and goals into Newcastle‘s frontline.
At 25, the English sensation will enter the peak stage of his playing career soon, so he has what it takes to make an immediate impact at St. James’ Park if Howe can devise a way to get a deal over the line for him this summer.
Harrison could even help the Magpies challenge for a top-half finish in the Premier League next season. Therefore, Howe should try everything in his power to lure the Leeds United star to Tyneside ahead of the new campaign.
