In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Liverpool are eyeing a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus. It has been stated that the Reds could face competition from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in pursuit of the German midfield ace.
Neuhaus’ Impressive Season At Borussia-Park
The 25-year-old had a decent campaign with Monchengladbach recently as he managed to produce a run of impressive displays at the heart of their midfield. Neuhaus registered four goals and four assists in 32 matches for the German side last season on all fronts.
The German talent was a reliable performer at the centre of the park based on his average of 2.0 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 0.6 clearances, 1.6 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He was even accurate when distributing the ball from midfield, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 80.8% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Is Neuhaus A Good Option For Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp?
Neuhaus is a tough-tackling midfielder who can sense the danger quickly to earn the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He can strike the ball well from long range and has got the vision to create a few inviting chances in the attacking end of the field. Neuhaus usually operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if needed.
The German playmaker can even make a few intelligent runs with the ball from midfield. He can keep possession moving in tight spaces which makes him a good fit for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp‘s brand of football.
At 25, Neuhaus is maturing into a top midfielder, so the Reds will do well to lure him to English football this summer. He will inject more energy and dynamism to Klopp’s midfield at Anfield and could help the Merseyside outfit compete for multiple trophies in the coming seasons.
All in all, Neuhaus will be a decent option for Liverpool to pursue during this summer transfer period. However, it remains to be seen whether the German can cope with the physical demands of Premier League football.
