Sterling’s Decent Numbers In Manchester Last Season
Sterling had a successful campaign at the Etihad Stadium as he put in several productive performances for Man City in the final third and helped them secure the Premier League title. The England international banged in 17 goals and secured nine assists in 47 matches for the Mancunian giants last season across all fronts.
The 27-year-old managed to impress by averaging 1.9 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in the Premier League.
He even interchanged possession really well with his teammates in the final third, based on his pass success rate of 85.4% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Sterling A Good Option For Chelsea Boss Thomas Tuchel?
Sterling has got an electric pace which he can use to make some penetrative runs with the ball in the attacking end of the pitch. He loves to drive to the byline and can engineer a few meaningful openings for others around him.
The 77-time England international has also improved his finishing under Pep Guardiola’s stewardship over the past few years. Hence, he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Chelsea if Thomas Tuchel can find a way to bring him to the English capital during this summer transfer period.
Sterling is well-equipped to make an instant impact at the West London club which makes him a great option for Tuchel to consider this summer. The Man City star could even help Chelsea close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool at the summit of English football in the coming seasons.
At 27, Sterling is currently playing in his prime and has got the winning mindset to be a success story at Stamford Bridge. However, Tuchel should only move in for him if he is willing to offer the talented winger regular playing starts in the upcoming campaign.
