In a recent interview with Wett Freunde, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Liverpool are in the hunt for Borussia Dortmund talent Jude Bellingham next summer. Romano said,
“I think Jude Bellingham will stay at Borussia Dortmund this summer. I really have no doubts about that. Dortmund are convinced the player will stay and he is ready to stay. I see no problems between the two parties.
“But I’m sure Liverpool will get in the running for Jude Bellingham next summer.
“Let’s wait and see what Borussia Dortmund plans for next summer. But Liverpool will be in the running for him. And not just Liverpool. Because all top clubs, not only from England but also from Spain, are watching the situation around Jude Bellingham. I’m sure when the moment comes Liverpool will be there.”
Bellingham’s Rich Vein Of Form In German Football
Bellingham had a brilliant campaign at Signal Iduna Park recently as he managed to put in several eye-catching displays at the centre of Dortmund’s midfield. The 18-year-old has done well to score six goals and secure 14 assists in 43 matches for the German outfit last season on all fronts.
The 15-time England international gave a good account of himself at both ends of the field based on his average of 1.6 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.4 shots, 1.2 interceptions and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been excellent with his ball distribution after making 83.7% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Bellingham A Good Option For Liverpool This Summer?
Bellingham is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his side in midfield. The England international can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range. He has also got the eye to play a decisive pass deep inside the opponent’s half and can make some intelligent runs with the ball going forward.
A player of Bellingham’s skillset and incredible potential will be a welcome acquisition for the Reds next summer as he will be a great signing for them in the long run.
The Dortmund whizkid is good enough to be an ideal successor to Jordan Henderson who is entering the twilight years of his playing career at Anfield.
At 18, he has got a very bright future ahead of him and would no doubt enhance the quality of Jurgen Klopp‘s first XI. With all things considered, Bellingham will be a decent option for the Merseyside club to consider at the end of next season.
