In a recent report, Gianluca Dimarzio revealed that Chelsea are set to rival Inter Milan for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer this summer. It is understood that the Blues have submitted an important proposal for the Brazilian defensive ace this summer.
Bremer’s Solid Campaign In Serie A
Bremer had a decent campaign at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino as he put in a series of impressive displays at the centre of Torino’s backline. The 25-year-old made 33 appearances for the Italian outfit last season, scoring three times and securing one assist across all fronts.
The Brazilian talent proved his worth as a dominant presence at the back by averaging 1.5 tackles, 3.2 interceptions and 4.0 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even distributed the ball well from inside his half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.6% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Bremer Bring To Chelsea?
Bremer can use his strong 1.88m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. He can get stuck in with some crunching tackles to earn the ball back for his team on the defensive third of the pitch.
The Brazilian powerhouse is often quick to spot the danger and is always willing to clear his lines when required. Bremer is even proficient at playing his way out from the back but is yet to prove his worth at the highest level. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing him in this off-season.
We can expect Bremer to bring plenty of bite and steel to Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel‘s defensive department. He could serve as a good replacement for Antonio Rudiger who decided to part ways with the Blues and join Real Madrid on a free transfer earlier this summer.
