In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo revealed that Barcelona are monitoring the progress of Las Palmas talent Alberto Moleiro this summer. It is understood that the Catalan club could face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City and Villarreal in the race to land the Spanish prospect.
Moleiro’s Impressive Rise At The Estadio Gran Canaria
Moleiro was a prominent member of Las Palmas’ first team as he managed to catch the eye by producing a few impressive displays in the final third. The 18-year-old registered three goals and one assist in 38 matches for the Spanish club in the previous campaign across all competitions.
The gifted teenager deserves a lot of plaudits for breaking out as a regular starter in La Liga 2 last year. Hence, Barcelona will do well to lure him to the Nou Camp ahead of the new campaign.
Barcelona Monitoring The Progress Of Moleiro: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Moleiro can use his pace and agility to make a few driving runs with the ball in the opposition half. The Spain Under-19 international can contribute by scoring the odd goal in the final third but has to find a way to be more consistent if he wants to earn more first-team starts in the coming seasons.
He can even set up some promising chances for his teammates up top. Moleiro is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also feature as a winger on either flank if needed.
At 18, the future is quite promising for the Las Palmas whizkid as long as he continues to take strides towards improving himself with each year.
However, Moleiro is still quite raw and would need time before he is ready to feature in Barca boss Xavi‘s starting XI at the Nou Camp. With all things considered, the Spanish sensation is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Catalan giants will do well to win the race to acquire his services before the end of this summer transfer window.
