In a recent report, The Sun claimed that Arsenal are ready to offer Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus a lucrative contract. It is understood that the Gunners are willing to double the Brazilian striker’s current wages to tempt him to seal a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Jesus’ Impressive Form In English Football This Season
Jesus has enjoyed a fruitful campaign in the northwest of England after managing to give a good account of himself in the final third. The ex-Palmeiras sensation featured in 41 matches for the Mancunian outfit this season, netting 13 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions.
The 25-year-old has played an influential role for Pep Guardiola’s side by averaging 2.3 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even been excellent when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 84.8% in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Is Jesus A Decent Fit For Arsenal Head Coach Mikel Arteta?
Jesus excels at creating a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has begun to prove his worth as a decent finisher in the final third. The Brazilian attacker has also done well to set up a handful of goals for his side over the past ten months which helped Man City win the Premier League title. Furthermore, he is versatile enough to feature in any position across the frontline.
A striker of Jesus’ skillset will be a terrific addition to Arsenal‘s squad if Mikel Arteta can find a way to get him on board in this off-season.
We can expect Jesus to inject more pace, goals and creativity into the Gunners‘ attack. He will serve as an upgrade over Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as they have both struggled to be consistent in terms of their goal-scoring at the Emirates Stadium last season.
With all things considered, Jesus would be a good fit for Arteta’s brand of football at North London and could even help Arsenal challenge for a top-four place in Premier League football next season.
