West Ham United faced off against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Deutsche Bank Park earlier tonight as they looked to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final clash. The Hammers made a poor start to the game as Aaron Cresswell was sent off by the referee in the 19th minute. The home team made their numerical advantage count and struck the opener just seven minutes later courtesy of Rafael Borré’s good finish. David Moyes’ men struggled to get a foothold in the game and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Both sides canceled each other out in the second half as the contest finished with the East London outfit suffering a 1-0 defeat on the road (3-1 on aggregate) which knocked them out of the Europa League.
