In a recent report, Calciomercato mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Torino defender Gleison Bremer. It is understood that Spurs could face competition in the form of AC Milan in the race to recruit the Brazilian centre-back.
Bremer’s Impressive Run Of Form In Italian Football
Bremer has been a rock at the back for Torino this season and has been responsible for putting in a series of dominant performances at the heart of their defence. The 25-year-old has found the back of the net three times and secured one assist in 33 matches for the Italian club during this campaign on all fronts.
The Itapitanga-born talent has been a consistent performer on the defensive end of the field based on his average of 1.5 tackles, 3.2 interceptions and 4.0 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A.
He has been even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 81.6% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Is Bremer A Good Option For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Antonio Conte?
Bremer can get stuck in with some crunching tackles to make life tough for the opposition and is usually quick to spot the danger that allows him to earn the ball back for his side. The Brazilian talent doesn’t take too many chances when clearing the danger at the back and is also proficient at playing his way out from inside his half.
We can expect Bremer to add a lot of bite and steel to Tottenham‘s defence. He ticks all the right boxes in terms of what Antonio Conte demands from his centre-backs.
At 25, Bremer’s best years are ahead of him, so Spurs can expect to make the most out of his services if they can find a way to get him on board during this summer transfer window. The South American defensive ace could even help the North London outfit compete for a major trophy or two in the coming seasons. Hence, Bremer could be a decent option for Conte to consider this summer.
