Palhinha is enjoying another solid campaign in Portugal as he has continued to excel at the heart of Sporting’s midfield. The 26-year-old has registered three goals in 37 matches for the Portuguese outfit this season across all competitions.

The Portuguese talent has given a good account of himself by averaging 3.0 tackles, 1.0 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.0 shots and 0.6 key passes per 90 minutes in the Liga Portugal. He has even been excellent with his ball distribution after making 87.9% of his attempted passes in the Portuguese top tier (stats via whoscored).

Palhinha can get stuck in with some solid tackles to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. He usually clears the danger when needed and can time his challenges well to secure possession back in midfield.
