In a recent report, SkySports conveyed that PSG star forward Kylian Mbappe is expected to announce his joining to Real Madrid soon.
The report also states that PSG were even ready to offer him £4m in wages (double his current wage) and signing him for a deal worth up to £100m in the hopes of not losing him.
Mbappe’s Impressive Campaign In Numbers
Kylian Mbappe is having a solid campaign this season and the ferocious goal scorer has scored 38 goals and created 24 assists over 54 games across all fronts.
The 23-year-old has proven himself worthy of every appraisal coming his way, living up to the hype. He has performed spectacularly in the final third this season by averaging 3 dribbles, 1.7 key passes and 3.8 shots per 90 minutes. He has also been impressive in distributing the ball, making 83.2 % of his attempted passes in French top flight football (stats via whoscored).
Three Reasons Why Mbappe Could Choose Real Madrid Over PSG?
PSG’s aversion to getting over the line for the Champions League has been a hindrance to the star’s career; furthermore, the addition of Messi and Neymar has hindered his growth in becoming an all rounded forward. Los Blancos on the other hand, are currently aiming for their 35th UCL title, reaching the finals this season, so that is an added lure for the star forward.
Kylian Mbappe has been a huge admirer of Cristiano Ronaldo and has been interested to play for the Spanish giants since he was young. Real Madrid have taken his interests and lured him to be the face of the club. Los Blancos have tried selling the idea of him being the new Cristiano Ronaldo for the club, this has seemed to appeal to the French forward over everything else.
Mbappe is a versatile forward who can play on all three positions across the final third. The France International can get in behind the opposition and create chances using his pace. His extraordinary skillsets put him well above the best strikers in the world currently. At 23, the PSG star will only get better with his best days still ahead of him. Real Madrid seem to lack at the final third, being in confusion over the right wing spot. Mbappe could be a great fit in that position, going on to be a crucial player at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Carlo Ancelotti has been wise in trying to get him on board when the transfer window commences this summer. PSG, on the other hand, will be met with a dramatic setback after the announcement is made in the near future.
