Everton entertained Chelsea at Goodison Park earlier today as they hoped to earn all three points at home. The Toffees were solid in the first half and managed to get into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Richarlison broke the deadlock in the 46th minute with a composed finish to put Everton ahead on the day. Jordan Pickford made a few brilliant saves to restrict the Blues from scoring as the contest finished 1-0 in favour of the Merseyside club.

The English keeper made a few important clearances at the back. More importantly, he pulled off a few excellent stops to deny the opposition a goal.
RB: Alex Iwobi – 7/10
He performed his defensive duties well and had a couple of lively moments in the final third.
CB: Seamus Coleman – 7/10
The Everton defender made a few crucial clearances inside his half and performed well enough to keep a clean sheet.
CB: Yerry Mina – 7/10
Mina cleared the danger when needed and made one key chance going forward.
CB: Mason Holgate – 6.5/10
Holgate didn’t do much wrong at the back and will be happy with the shutout today.
LB: Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6.5/10
He did what was required of him on the defensive end of the field and had some lively moments in the final third.
RW: Anthony Gordon – 7/10
Gordon caused a few problems for the Chelsea defenders but didn’t do enough to score.
CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 7/10
He earned the ball back a couple of times and made some decent chances in the final third.
CM: Fabian Delph – 6/10
Delph tried his best to anchor the midfield but struggled to get a foothold in the game.
LW: Demarai Gray – 8/10
He did his fair share of defending and had some bright moments in the final third. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.
ST: Richarlison – 7.5/10
The Brazilian striker was a real threat in the opponent’s half and managed to get his name on the scoresheet just after the half-time interval with a composed finish.

He added some steel to Frank Lampard’s midfield.
ST: Salomon Rondon – 6/10
Rondon made one good run with the ball but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
