In a recent segment with ESPN, former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop urged Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic to seal a move to West Ham United this summer. When asked about whether the United States international should join the Hammers, Hislop said,
“I think would be a great fit for him (Pulisic).
“Might be exactly what he needs to be playing if he wants to start and start regularly.”
Pulisic’s Up And Down Season At Chelsea
Pulisic is having a campaign of mixed emotions as he has caught the eye at times but has struggled to make himself a regular starter at Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old has scored seven times and grabbed four assists in 34 matches for the Blues this season on all fronts.
A lot of the United States sensation’s league appearances have come off the bench which could be why he is only averaging 1.0 shots, 0.5 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession deep inside the opponent’s half after making 79.6% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Should West Ham United Boss David Moyes Move In For Pulisic This Summer?
Pulisic is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make some encouraging runs out on the flanks. He excels at getting to the byline and can whip in a few inviting crosses into the opponent’s penalty box. Pulisic is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also play in any position across the frontline
The United States wing wizard can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. However, Pulisic needs to be more consistent with his end-product if he wants to earn regular first-team starts in the coming seasons.
At 23, the future is quite bright for the United States international, so the Hammers should think about listening to Hislop’s advice by moving in for the player this summer.
We can expect Pulisic to add more pace and goals to West Ham‘s frontline and increase competition for places within David Moyes‘ match-day squad. Thus, the East London outfit should think about getting the Chelsea speedster on board when the transfer window reopens later this year.
