Manchester United faced off against Everton at Goodison Park earlier today as they focused on collecting maximum points from this away clash. The Red Devils made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 27th minute when Anthony Gordon found the back of the net with a deflected attempt. Man United failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.
The Mancunian giants produced a disjointed display in the second half and suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Merseyside.
Let’s take a look at how each Man United player fared during the match against the Toffees.
GK: David de Gea – 6/10
The Spanish keeper made a couple of good saves but couldn’t do much about Anthony Gordon’s deflected shot.
RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7.5/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and made some good runs with the ball down the right wing.
CB: Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10
Lindelof made a few important clearances during the game and won plenty of aerial duels for his side.
CB: Harry Maguire – 6.5/10
He was strong in the air as well and defended his penalty box to the best of his abilities. However, Maguire won’t be pleased after conceding the only goal of the game midway through the first half.
LB: Alex Telles – 6.5/10
Telles looked a bit shaky at the back at times but managed to create two good chances in the final third.
CM: Fred – 6/10
The Brazilian talent struggled to get a foothold in the game and got replaced in the 35th minute.
CM: Nemanja Matic – 6/10
Matic made two crucial interceptions but was too slow to react to the danger inside his half. He got replaced after the hour mark.
RW: Jadon Sancho – 6.5/10
He made a few good chances for others around him but failed to threaten the opposition goal.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10
The Portuguese playmaker was always looking to create openings for others around him but never looked like he had a goal in him.
LW: Marcus Rashford – 6/10
He got two good chances in the first half but couldn’t take any of them. He was quiet after the half-time break.
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 6/10
Ronaldo had a few bright moments in the game but didn’t do enough to score.
Substitutes:
CM: Paul Pogba – 6.5/10
Pogba showed some flashes of his brilliance but failed to register a goal.
CAM: Juan Mata – 6/10
He struggled to get into the rhythm of the game.
