It has been revealed that the Italian giants are planning to acquire the services of the Serbian forward who is having a tough season with Los Blancos.
Jovic’s Unimpressive Form In Spanish Football
Jovic has endured another tough season at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as he has often found himself behind Karim Benzema and Mariano Diaz in Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order. The 24-year-old has appeared in 17 matches for the Spanish outfit this season, finding the back of the net once and providing two assists in multiple competitions.
The ex-Red Star Belgrade talent has made most of his league appearances off the bench which explains why he is only averaging 1.0 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.2 dribbles per game in La Liga. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 78.8% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).

Jovic can be a decent goal-scorer in the final third when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the field. He proved his worth as a decent goal-getter during his time in Germany. However, things have not fallen in place for the Serbian frontman in the Spanish capital.
Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti to cut the Serbian striker loose when the transfer window commences later this summer.
At 24, there is still enough time for Jovic to turn his career around for the better in the coming seasons. The 22-time Serbia international’s current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium is set to expire in the summer of 2025. Still, Real Madrid would be wise to cash in on him during this summer transfer period so that they can re-invest the money generated from his sale to strengthen other areas of their squad.
