In a recent report, Manchester Evening News mentioned that Manchester United are set to rekindle their interest in Villarreal defender Pau Torres. It is understood that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the Spain international during this summer transfer window.

Torres is having a solid campaign with Villarreal and deserves a lot of credit for helping them secure qualification into the UEFA Champions League semi-finals recently. The Spaniard has made 40 appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season, netting five goals in all competitions.

Torres has established himself as a dominant presence at the heart of Villarreal’s backline. He is usually quick to spot the danger and loves to clear his lines when the opposition are on the front foot.
Standing at 1.91m, the Spanish defensive ace can use his strength to win his fair share of 50-50 aeriel duels and can also chip in by scoring the odd goal from time to time. Plus, Torres is proficient at playing his way out from the back but there are some concerns over whether he would be able to replicate his good form in the Premier League.
