Manchester City could end up paying £246million to bring in Erling Haaland this summer with Mino Raiola scooping a hefty sum from the package, as reported by Mirror.
Manchester City are in desperate need of a striker in the upcoming transfer window after Pep Guardiola missed out on Harry Kane last summer. Following this, The Sky Blues boss has prioritised the signing of a striker in the transfer window as the season comes to an end. Borussia Dortmund star Haaland is being targeted as the new number nine for the English side.
Manchester City Face Stiff Competition For Signing The Forward.
The Premier League champions are not the only club looking to sign the 21-year-old, with Real Madrid working on a deal to bring the striker to Bernabeu, as reported by Marca. However, whoever is successful in convincing him to move to their club will have to pay up nearly £250m.
Los Blancos have also been showing keen interest in French Forward Kylian Mbappe who could be rumoured to move to Bernabeu at the end of this season.
However, that consolidates City’s position even more- who have the drive and the money necessary to sign Haaland and land him at the Etihad. It all goes without saying that Raiola is set to get a huge cut of the sum involved.
The Hefty Transfer Sum And Rioala’s Cut
According to Di Marzio, City have already made a wage offer to the striker worth around £25m yearly- totalling £125m in wages over five years with Haaland’s release clause, worth nearly £63m. Whether that means the 21-year-old is tempted by the prospect of moving to England remains to be seen, however, working under Pep Guardiola should act as a major incentive for the young striker.
On top of that staggering amount of cash, Raiola’s fee is reported to be around £58m. The controversial player representative, who also counts the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Matthijs de Ligt among his clients, is urging Haaland to leave Dortmund this summer.
Haaland Will Leave Dortmund This Summer
The Norwegian forward has been in excellent form this season scoring 23 times in 25 appearances on all fronts. Although, an unfortunate injury has halted his goalscoring exploits in recent times. Since missing four games in February through muscle problems, he has failed to score in the Bundesliga so far.
Haaland’s probably made up his mind about leaving the club when Dortmund were thrown out of the Europa League, losing embarrassingly to Rangers in the first knockout round. A 4-2 defeat at home had the star looking fed up in the dugout as he missed out on the opportunity due to injuries.
