In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Albert Roge mentioned that Barcelona are dreaming of a move to recruit Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez. It has been claimed that the Catalans are keen on acquiring the services of the French centre-back.

Hernandez’s Impressive Campaign At The Allianz Arena
The 26-year-old is having a solid season with Bayern and has successfully managed to establish himself as a rock at the centre of their defence. Hernandez has picked up a couple of assists in 32 matches for the Bavarian giants this season across all competitions.
The 31-time France international has given a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 1.6 clearances and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 89.4% of his attempted passes in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
Should Barcelona Snap Hernandez Up This Summer?
Hernandez has proven his worth as a solid presence when defending inside his half. He can get stuck in with some crunching tackles to make life tough for the opposition. Standing at 1.84m, the Marseille-born powerhouse can use his strength to win his fair share of aerial duels which makes him such a great asset for Bayern Munich.
The French talent can time his challenges well to make a few important interceptions at the back and is not shy of putting his foot through the ball when required. The Bundesliga talent is proficient at playing his way out from the back. He is primarily a central defender but can even fill in as a left-back if required.
At 26, Hernandez is currently playing in his prime and would make an immediate impact at the Nou Camp if Barca manage to land him in this off-season. He could even serve as a great long-term successor to Gerard Pique at the Catalan club.
The Bayern defensive ace would enhance the quality of Xavi‘s first XI and could even increase competition for places within his match-day squad. Therefore, it is only logical for the Catalan giants to snap Hernandez up during this summer transfer window.
