Paulo Dybala is keen on a move this summer as Juventus have made it clear that he isn’t part of their plans. Arsenal have made initial contacts to sign him as per reports by Mirror.
The Argentine forward has not been offered a contract in Turin and with Lacazette’s departure this summer, the Gunners are keen on signing a forward. Dybala will move in for free and that has attracted a lot of attention from various clubs, including the likes of PSG and Inter Milan.
This is pointed out once more by Corriere Dello Sport on Thursday, which explains that two clubs from North London ‘have moved’ for the Argentine, those being Arsenal and Newcastle from the Premier League.
Paulo Dybala’s Impressive Record
The argentine boasts an overall record of 115 goals, bagging in 53 assists while appearing for 322 games throughout his career. He is an efficient ball distributor maintaining an average passing percentage of 85.5 with 32.9 average passes per game.
The 28-year-old has registered 13 goals and six assists over 30 appearances for the Italian outfit during this campaign. The argentine has had a remarkable run in Italy in the last two consecutive years. (stats via whoscored).
The Argentine forward has a unique playstyle where he can hold the ball and create opportunities when required. His ability to score the goal from outside the box and finish clinically from inside the box is commendable. He is an offensive threat to the opposition playing in the forward position and flexibly acting as a false 9 when needed.
What Will Dybala Bring To Arsenal?
Mikel Arteta is on the lookout for attacking reinforcements with Lacazette’s contract expiring in a few months.
Dybala is by no means an out-and-out striker but the forward could add a lot of depth to the squad’s attack. He could partner up with Martin Odegaard to create opportunities for the wingers. His ability to hold the ball could also be useful in maintaining possession. He has the vision to find his teammates inside the box and can also create space for himself to put the ball into the net.
Arsenal’s intricate playstyle involves more attacking than defending while focusing on the holding player to launch attacks as the wingbacks move to the opponent’s half to create possession. This is where the Argentine’s efficiency in passing could play in favour of the club.
With his added experience in the Champions League and Arsenal looking to remain firm in the top four race, Dybala Could prove to be a good choice for the Gunners.
Will The Transfer Take Place?
Arsenal had Dusan Vlahovic on their radar but his move to Juventus, as a result, could free them to move for Paulo Dybala. Mikel Arteta is aware that the squad is in dire need of an attacking revamp. The Gunners have been in talks with Memphis Depay and Joao Felix. Going for the argentine forward might be a good choice considering his ability on the ball and Arsenal’s plans to head for the UCL.
Down on the player’s end, Dybala is still cold as he hasn’t given a response even though he wants to leave Italy.
