West Ham United will entertain Aston Villa at the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon as they look to secure maximum points at home. The Hammers suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool last weekend. Thus, the East London outfit will be eager to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they play hosts to the Villans at the English capital.
David Moyes will set his side up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first XI for this game. However, the West Ham boss will be sweating on the fitness of Declan Rice who is currently recovering from an illness.
3-4-2-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Aston Villa
Defence
Łukasz Fabiański will feature in between the sticks for the Hammers this weekend. Moyes could opt for a back three of Craig Dawson, Kurt Zouma and Aaron Cresswell for this league clash at home. All three of them need to keep a solid defensive shape at the back if they are to stop the Villans from scoring during the 90 minutes.
Issa Diop will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek will anchor the midfield for West Ham if Rice can pass a late fitness test. Pablo Fornals could get the nod to feature as the left-sided wide player while Ben Johnson hopes to catch the eye from the right flank.
Manuel Lanzini and Said Benrahma could get the license to operate as the free-flowing attacking midfielders. Their main focus would be to keep the ball moving well in the Aston Villa half and create enough chances for West Ham to win this game.
Mark Noble and Nikola Vlasic should be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Barring any late injuries, Michail Antonio will once again lead the charge for the East London giants up top. The English centre-forward will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for his team in the final third.
