In a recent report, The Daily Mail has mentioned that West Ham United are showing interest in Hull City winger Keane Lewis-Potter. It is believed that the Hammers are set to rival Tottenham Hotspur in pursuit of the English wide player.
Lewis-Potter’s Recent Rise In English Football
The 21-year-old has been a breath of fresh air in the EFL Championship this season as he has caught the eye by producing some impressive displays for Hull in the final third. Lewis-Potter has featured in 41 matches for the English side during this campaign, scoring nine goals and providing four assists across all competitions.
The Hull-born talent has done well to average 0.8 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 2.2 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in the English Championship.
He has even been accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates after completing 77.4% of his attempted passes in the English second division (stats via whoscored).
What Will Lewis-Potter Add To West Ham United Boss David Moyes’ Side?
Lewis-Potter can generate a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in on-target and can create some meaningful openings for others around him in the final third. The English sensation excels at making some energetic runs with the ball out on the wide areas. He also works hard on the defensive side of his game which has made him such a reliable member of Hull’s squad.
At 21, Lewis-Potter has got the potential to become one of the best players in his position someday. Thus, West Ham boss David Moyes would be wise to orchestrate a move to acquire his services in the summer. He is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger or play as a centre-forward up top if required.
We can expect Lewis-Potter to add more goals and assists to Moyes’ frontline. Plus, he will offer some serious competition for Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals at the London Stadium in the coming seasons. With all things considered, Lewis-Potter would be a good, long-term option for the Hammers to consider at the end of this season.
