West Ham United have so far enjoyed a brilliant season under David Moyes’ tutelage as they are now dreaming of a top-four place in the Premier League while also making a strong push for the UEFA Europa League trophy over the next few months.
West Ham’s Impressive Campaign So Far
The Hammers experienced a solid start to this campaign as they managed to go strong in both league and European football. However, the East London outfit got knocked out of both domestic cup competitions, much to the disappointment of their supporters.
Even then, there is still a lot to play for as Moyes looks to get the best out of his players so that they can maintain their push for a top-four place and also progress as far as possible in the Europa League.
Top-Four Finish Or Europa League Success: What Should Moyes Go For This Season?
At the moment, West Ham are fighting hard in two competitions. However, their main goal should be to secure a European spot for next season.
The Hammers are currently sitting in seventh place, just six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, in the league standings. Having said that, the East London outfit have played two games more than the Gunners which would make it difficult for them to make up the ground in the Premier League’s top-four race this season.
Moyes would have to make sure that he gets some productivity out of Michail Antonio in the injury absence of Jarrod Bowen. West Ham have got two mouth-watering clashes coming up versus Olympique Lyonnais in the UEFA Europa League.
The Hammers fans would be confident that Moyes can lead their team to a strong finish in Europe. However, winning the Europa League trophy would be quite difficult with clubs such as Barcelona and Red Bull Leipzig still in that competition. Still, there is a lot to be optimistic about at the London Stadium in the remainder of this campaign as long as the West Ham players can find some consistency in terms of getting results on the field.
