Tottenham Hotspur have so far endured a tough season as they have crashed out of all cup competitions but are still vying for a top-four spot in the Premier League this season.
Antonio Conte has managed to get a favorable run of results before this international break as his players got the better of Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham United respectively.
Tottenham’s Up And Down Campaign So Far
The North London outfit made an average start to this campaign which led to Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking back in November last year. However, Antonio Conte has steadied the ship with Spurs now challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League.
Still, the Tottenham fans will be disappointed after they saw their side get knocked out by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup third round last year. Furthermore, Tottenham suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat away at Middlesbrough which knocked them out of the FA Cup earlier this month.
What Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Antonio Conte Aim For This Season?
Conte’s men have still got nine important Premier League matches to look forward to after this international break. If Tottenham win all of their remaining games in the league, they might have a good shot at securing a top-four place this season.
Hence, Spurs’ primary aim would be to try everything they can towards ensuring UEFA Champions League football for next season.
Otherwise, the North London giants have nothing to play as they already bowed out of all other cup competitions, including the UEFA Europa Conference League. Still, Conte should prioritise on getting the best out of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in Premier League football if they are to enjoy a successful finish to this campaign.
With some winnable fixtures coming up against Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion, the Tottenham supporters have every reason to be optimistic about their side’s chances of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League. However, Spurs cannot afford to drop any more points as they are still trailing Arsenal by three points, having played a league game more thus far.
