Barcelona will welcome Galatasaray at the Nou Camp on Thursday night as they look to secure a positive result in front of their home supporters. The Catalans managed to earn a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Elche last Sunday, so they will be eager to keep their good form going ahead of this UEFA Europa League last 16 first-leg clash.
Xavi could set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few changes for this cup game. Ferran Torres and Adama Traore could play from the start in midweek.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Galatasaray
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will operate in goal for the Catalan giants after conceding one goal versus Elche last weekend. Ronald Araujo will feature alongside Gerard Pique at the centre of the Barca backline as they focus on stopping the Turkish outfit from scoring during the game.
Sergino Dest will function at right-back while Jordi Alba looks to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Xavi will ask both of them to be adventurous in the opponent’s half so that they can offer decent support to the front players.
Oscar Mingueza will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets and Pedri will make up Xavi’s midfield as they look to enjoy more of the ball and orchestrate a few inviting chances for their teammates up top.
Riqui Puig and Nico Gonzalez will have to settle for a place on the bench but might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Adama Traore could get a chance to put his pace to good use down the left wing while Ferran Torres operates as the right-sided wide player.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to retain his place up top and will lead the line for Barca down the middle.
Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to impress in the latter stages if the Catalan outfit are in need of a goal by then.
