Nunez is enjoying a sensational campaign in Portuguese football as he has performed at a high level while acting as the spearhead of Benfica’s attack. The ex-Penarol talent has banged in 26 goals and secured two assists in 33 matches for the Portuguese outfit this season across various competitions.
The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer for Benfica in the final third based on his average of 2.8 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in Liga Portugal. However, he needs to take care of the ball a bit better up top, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 64.6% in the top tier of Portuguese football (stats via whoscored).

What Will Nunez Add To Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola’s Team?
Nunez is a quick and agile forward who can make some dangerous runs with the ball deep inside the opponent’s half. He has got a great work ethic and packs a lot of venom with his shot attempts. Standing at 1.87m, the Uruguay international is a towering presence in the final third and can often overpower the opposition centre-backs using his strength. However, he needs to work on improving his link-up play in the opposition half.
