Burnley will welcome Chelsea at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon as they try to grind out a result at home. The Clarets suffered a 2-0 loss versus the Foxes in midweek, so they will be eager to bounce back by putting on a good showing against the Blues this weekend.
Sean Dyche will opt for a 4-4-2 formation and could name his strongest XI for this important league clash in front of the Burnley supporters. Jay Rodriguez is expected to play from the start as he hopes to offer some decent support to Wout Weghorst up top.
4-4-2 Burnley Predicted Lineup To Face Chelsea
Defence
Nick Pope will feature in goal for the Clarets after he shipped in a couple of goals in his last league outing. Nathan Collins will operate alongside James Tarkowski at the centre of the Burnley backline as they look to keep things solid at the back throughout the 90 minutes.
Connor Roberts will feature at right-back while Charlie Taylor fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to work hard on the defensive end of the field if they are to stop the Chelsea attackers from scoring this weekend.
Ben Mee won’t be available for selection due to a knee injury.
Midfield
Josh Brownhill will function along with Jack Cork as the holding midfielders as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
Dwight McNeil will play as the left-sided wide player while Aaron Lennon looks to put his pace to good use down the right flank.
Ashley Westwood will be named on the bench and could come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Wout Weghorst and Jay Rodriguez will lead the charge for the Lancashire outfit up top. Both of them will have to work together collectively to cause a few problems for the Chelsea defenders this weekend.
Maxwel Cornet will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if Burnley are in need of a goal by then.
