In a recent report, Sport revealed that Real Madrid are willing to sell Marco Asensio this summer amid recent interest from Liverpool and Arsenal. It is believed that Los Blancos could be open to cashing in on the Spanish attacker when the transfer commences later this year.
Asensio’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football
The 26-year-old has done well to produce a run of eye-catching displays on the right side of Carlo Ancelotti’s attack. Asensio has registered ten goals and one assist in 33 matches for the Spanish outfit this season across all fronts.
The Spain international has given a good account of himself by averaging 2.1 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has even been accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 87.6% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).

Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Cut Asensio Loose This Summer?
On his day, Asensio can chip in by netting his fair share of goals in the attacking end of the field. He doesn’t need an invitation to have a shot at goal and can strike the ball with power and precision from long range. The Spaniard is also a good playmaker in and around the opposition penalty box but needs to add a few more assists to his game. Still, he is versatile enough to play anywhere across the frontline.
At the moment, the Mallorca-born talent is an important member of Ancelotti‘s squad. However, Los Blancos are bracing themselves for a big summer in terms of arrivals which could see Asensio leave the club.
The Madrid giants can benefit from getting the Spanish sensation’s name off their wage bill. Plus, Asensio could also enjoy a change of scenery this summer as he looks to earn more playing opportunities in the coming seasons.
