The Madrid giants made an up and down start to this campaign but still managed to cruise to the top of the league table. Los Blancos held their own in Europe as well but got knocked out by Athletic Club Bilbao in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals.
Still, the Real Madrid fans will be happy that their side are still going strong in both league football and in Europe. However, an unexpected 4-0 defeat at the hands of Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier this month has drowned their confidence ahead of what looks set to be an exciting finish to their campaign.

What Are Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s Goals For This Season?
Ancelotti’s main focus would be to clinch the league title as soon as possible so that his players can solely concentrate on going all out in the Champions League this season.
Real Madrid have got some winnable fixtures coming up against Celta Vigo, Getafe, Sevilla and Osasuna respectively. Therefore, Ancelotti would be quietly optimistic about his team’s success in league football once again in the coming weeks.
However, things won’t be so easy for the Spanish heavyweights in the Champions League as they will have to eliminate the holders, Chelsea to qualify into the semifinal stage of the competition.
Ancelotti would rely a lot on the goals from Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema over the next couple of months. Thus, Los Blancos are in dire need to keep them fit after this international break. All in all, it makes sense for the Madrid outfit to prioritise on the league title before hopefully going on to mount a serious challenge for the Champions League trophy as well in the final few weeks of this season.
