Newcastle United Eyeing A Move For This Bundesliga Winger: Good Option For Howe?

In a recent report, The Daily Star stated that Newcastle United are eyeing a move for Bayer 04 Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby this summer. It has been mentioned that the Magpies are preparing an offer in the region of £50m to acquire the services of the French wide player.

Diaby’s Impressive Numbers At The BayArena

The 22-year-old is enjoying a terrific campaign in German football as he has been responsible for performing at a high level on the left side of Leverkusen’s attack. Diaby has banged in 15 goals and grabbed nine assists in 31 matches for the German outfit this season across various competitions.

The Paris-born sensation has been a consistent performer in the final third based on his average of 1.9 shots, 1.6 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has even distributed the ball well going forward after making 76.9% of his attempted passes in the German top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Is Diaby A Good Option For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?

Diaby has got electric pace under his belt and can often use his quickness and agility to get the better of his marker out on the wide areas. He has transformed himself into a prolific presence in front of the opponent’s goal and has even added a few assists to his game this season.

Thus, it makes sense for the Magpies to make an attempt to sign Diaby in the summer as he will inject a lot of pace and goals to Eddie Howe‘s attack.

The Frenchman is also good enough to rival Allan Saint-Maximin, Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy for a regular starting spot at St. James’ Park in the coming seasons. Plus, Newcastle have now got the financial resources to pull off a big-money move for Diaby at the end of this campaign.

At 22, the future is quite bright for Diaby as long as he can continue to improve himself with each year. With all things considered, the Leverkusen star will be a good option for the Tyneside giants to consider during the summer transfer window.
