In a recent print edition, Sport claimed that Leeds United winger Raphinha is on the radar of Chelsea this summer. It is believed that both the Blues and Liverpool have made offers to the Brazilian wide player’s agent, Deco, ahead of a potential move at the end of this season.

Raphinha’s Impressive Form At Elland Road

Raphinha is having another impressive campaign in English football as he has been responsible for putting in a series of influential displays on the right side of the Leeds’ attack. The 25-year-old has participated in 28 matches for the Whites this season, scoring nine goals and grabbing three assists on all fronts.

The Porto Alegre-born talent has been a consistent performer in the attacking third of the field based on his average of 2.7 shots, 2.1 key passes, 1.0 crosses and 2.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football.

However, he needs to take care of the ball a bit better in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 68.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).

He excels at getting to the byline and can cut inside to whip in some dangerous crosses into the opponent’s penalty box. The Brazilian sensation has transformed himself into a decent finisher in the final third. However, he can sometimes give away the ball cheaply which he needs to improve on if he wants to be a success story at a top club like Chelsea.

At 25, Raphinha has got his best years ahead of him which makes him a good fit for the Blues this summer. He is primarily a right-sided winger but can also operate as a winger on the left flank or as a centre-forward up top.
