In a recent report, Calciomercato revealed that Aston Villa are eyeing a move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie. It has been mentioned that the Villans are trailing Barcelona in the race to land the Ivory Coast international.
Kessie’s Impressive Form In Italian Football This Season
Kessie is having another solid campaign at San Siro after producing a series of dominant displays at the heart of AC Milan’s midfield. The 25-year-old has played in 27 matches for the Italian outfit this season, netting six goals and securing one assist in all competitions.
The Ouragahio-born talent has given a good account of himself by averaging 1.4 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 0.9 shots, 0.9 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been excellent when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass success rate of 90% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
