According to Jeunes Footeux, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the services of Noa Lang. The Gunners are closely monitoring the progress of the Club Brugge attacker, who may leave the club in the summer for a fee of around €35-40 million. It has put Arsenal on red alert, although the Londoners also face stiff competition from league rivals Leicester City.
What Does He Bring To The Table?
Formerly of Ajax, Noa Lang has had unprecedented success since his move to Club Brugge in 2020. He initially arrived at the club on loan, but after being involved in 22 goals in 24 league matches during his debut campaign, his move was made permanent last summer, for a fee of around €6 million.
It has turned out to be a major bargain for Club Brugge, with Lang racking up a total of 25 goals and 23 assists in 73 competitive appearances for the club. He has built a solid attacking partnership alongside Charles De Ketelaere and Bas Dost, though it hasn’t been enough to leapfrog Royale Union Saint Gilloise this season.
In addition to his productivity in the final third, Lang has made a solid impression with his speed and close control. It allows him to evade the press while becoming a major threat on the counter. The winger is indeed capable of making darting runs in behind the backline, and drive in crosses into the box. It has been a major facet to his game at Club Brugge so far, and at such a young, the attacker is only set to improve.
A Great Investment For Arsenal?
Arsenal‘s pursuit of Noa Lang appears to be a logical move by Mikel Arteta given the Spaniard requires some serious reinforcements in the attacking department.
While the Club Brugge youngster is not a direct replacement for the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette, he can certainly add more depth to an attacking unit that has appeared to be fairly inconsistent. Lang’s ability to probe the opposition, coupled with his blistering pace, is ideally suited to Arteta’s game plan.
Tactically, Lang could operate on the left hand side of Arteta’s 4-2-3-1, with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard occupying the other creative roles. It would allow Arteta to deploy Gabriel Martinelli in a more central role, thus improving the overall versatility of his attacking unit and making it far more efficient in the final third.
For a fee of around €35-40 million, Noa Lang could prove to be a smart investment, given his age profile and the potential to become an asset at the highest level.
