At the moment, Arsenal are in pole position to secure a top-four spot as they are sitting pretty in fourth place, three points clear of fifth-placed, Tottenham Hotspur, having played a game less.
Arsenal’s Impressive Season Thus Far
The Gunners have enjoyed a decent campaign in the Premier League as they have steadily made progress under Mikel Arteta’s stewardship. Arsenal have slowly managed to get themselves to the fourth spot in the Premier League table.
The North London outfit did well to reach the semifinals of the EFL Cup where they were narrowly beaten by Liverpool over two legs. However, the Gunners suffered a poor exit in the FA Cup as they were defeated 2-0 by Nottingham Forest at the start of January.
Still, the Arsenal fans will be quite happy about their club’s progress on the field and have every reason to dream of a return to UEFA Champions League in the upcoming campaign.
What Should Arsenal Aim For This Season?
Arsenal’s main priority would be to try everything they can to secure a top-four spot in the Premier League as they have been eliminated from all other cup competitions.
Mikel Arteta has been building for the future over the past couple of seasons and deserves a lot of credit for getting the best out of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe at the Emirates Stadium this season.
Currently, Arsenal are heading in the right direction, so it is quite important for Arteta to find a way to end this season on a high by finishing in the Premier League’s top four.
The Gunners have got some important fixtures coming up against Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton in the coming weeks. Hence, the London giants will have to be at their best if they want to collect maximum points from these games. However, Arsenal have still got to play Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham United which could very well decide their top-four fate this season. Either way, Arteta has every reason to be optimistic about his side’s chances of a successful end to this Premier League campaign.
