West Ham United will face off against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Thursday night as they focus on picking up a positive result on the road. The Hammers suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool last weekend which has halted their momentum ahead of this crucial UEFA Europa League clash.
David Moyes could set his side up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his starting XI for this game. Ryan Fredericks and Declan Rice will probably play from the start as Moyes looks to freshen up his first team for this European encounter away at Andalusia.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Sevilla
Defence
Alphonse Areola will feature in goal for the visitors as he has often been West Ham’s primary keeper in the Europa League this season. Craig Dawson and Kurt Zouma will act as Moyes’s centra-backs as they look to keep the Sevilla attackers at bay in midweek.
Ryan Fredericks will get a start at right-back while Aaron Cresswell hopes to put on a good show as the left-back. Both of them will need to be at the top of their game if West Ham are to stop the opposition from creating too many chances from the flanks.
Ben Johnson will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the right-back position.
Midfield
Declan Rice will resume his midfield partnership with Tomas Soucek. Moyes would ask both of them to protect the backline and engineer some decent chances in the final third.
The gifted trio of Pablo Fornals, Manuel Lanzini and Nikola Vlasic will play just ahead of them as part of West Ham’s attack.
Mark Noble and Said Benrahma will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they await their opportunity to impress as the second-half substitutes if required.
Attack
Michail Antonio will spearhead the Hammers’ attack on his own up top. The English striker will have to figure out a way to cause a few problems for the Sevilla defenders during the 90 minutes.
