Ruiz’s Impressive Campaign In Naples
Ruiz is enjoying another impressive season in Italian football as he has produced a handful of dominant performances at the heart of Napoli’s midfield. The 15-time Spain international has participated in 22 matches for the Naples outfit this season, netting five goals and securing four assists in multiple competitions.
The 25-year-old has anchored the midfield with conviction as he is averaging 1.7 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.4 shots and 1.3 key passes per game in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 91.6% in the Italian top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Is Ruiz A Good Fit For Newcastle United?
Ruiz is a good distributor of the ball and has a decent range of passes under his belt. He can make some crunching tackles to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. The Spanish sensation has got the engine to run up and down the field and cover a lot of ground for his side. He can even chip in by scoring and setting up his fair share of goals in the final third.
At 25, Ruiz is about to enter his prime, so Eddie Howe can expect to make the most out of his services if the Newcastle boss manage to get a deal over the line for him this summer.
Ruiz will enhance the quality of the Magpies‘ starting XI considerably and could help them secure European football in the coming seasons. The Spaniard’s current contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium is set to run out in the summer of 2023.
